Website Privacy Notice (interim)

• Analytics and advertising. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, and Google Ads to measure whether our ads work. See "Analytics and advertising" below.
• Cookies. Google Analytics and Google advertising set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser. Google can use them to recognize your browser on this site and on other sites, and to tell us whether a visit came from one of our ads. Google may also set its own cookies on Google domains. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works. See "Your choices" below.
• What we don't use. No embedded videos or maps and no outside font services. We don't sell your information for money, and we never use student data for advertising.
• No accounts. You can contact us through our form or email us at james@spedinsight.com, as described below.

• Turn off personalized ads from Google at My Ad Center.
• Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
• Opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Our website doesn't respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

If you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, work email, school district, role, what you're interested in, and whether you'd like our email updates. Your form is emailed to us and isn't stored on this website. To stop spam and abuse, our firewall checks each request and counts requests from each IP address for a few minutes, blocking any that send too many. Our form service uses your IP address only in memory while it handles your request, and we don't keep your IP address with your form. We use your information to answer you and, only if you opt in, to send occasional updates. We keep it only as long as we need it to answer you or send the updates you asked for, and we delete it sooner if you ask. Email service@spedinsight.com to see, correct or delete it. Our form and email services act only on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (which sends your form to our email), Microsoft 365 (our email) and Proofpoint (our email security service). We don't sell or rent this information, and we don't give it to Google or any other advertising company.

We don't sell or rent personal information for money. Google collects information through cookies on this site for analytics and advertising, as described above, and you can opt out using the choices listed there.

No student data is collected through this website. When a district uses the SpEd Insight™ product, student records will be governed by the Texas Student Privacy Alliance's Standard Student Data Privacy Agreement (TX-NDPA) signed by that district and by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). We will work with those records only as a school official under the district's direct control. No student data will be loaded until the district signs the TX-NDPA. We never use student data, or any information from the SpEd Insight™ product, for advertising, and the product has no advertising or analytics tags. A full privacy policy for the product will be posted before any student data is used.
