Start from a draft. Your team decides.
SpEd Insight™ drafts; your staff review and edit everything; the ARD committee makes every decision.
Case managers start from a cited draft instead of a blank page.

- Before any student data: your district signs the TX-NDPA. Student data will be loaded only after that.
- Where data goes: we will host on AWS in the US, with encryption. Student data will never be sold or used for advertising.
- IEPs are education records under FERPA. Under your district's signed TX-NDPA, records will stay under your district's direct control.
- How we handle data
We use AI, and we say so plainly
SpEd Insight uses AI, a large language model, to read the documents you upload and prepare drafts. In production, the AI will run through Amazon Bedrock in our own AWS account, in US regions only. Today, every demo and test uses made-up students.
The AI is a drafting assistant. It does the first pass on the paperwork, and your staff do the professional work: they check it, change it and decide.
What the AI drafts
- Built, in pilot prep Intensity of service ratings: from an uploaded IEP, a proposed rating for each factor, with TEA's criterion and the IEP quote behind it. Ratings are advisory. Staff confirm or change each one, and a rating never decides funding.
- Built, in pilot prep IEP drafting from the FIE, in testing with fictional FIEs before district use: draft IEP sections in TEA Model IEP Form order, each line citing the FIE passage behind it.
- Built, in testing Parent contact outcome drafts: a short, neutral outcome note from one sentence you type, for you to check and edit before you save.
Not AI: the draft PEIMS prep file is built from district records by standard software.
How a draft becomes a record
- You upload the document or pick the data. Before uploaded documents go to AI, the app is designed to remove student names and identifiers it can detect. This isn't a guarantee.
- The AI prepares a draft. It is labeled as a draft, and each line shows its source. A line with no source is flagged for you to check.
- Your staff review and edit. Each item needs its own decision: accept, edit or remove. There is no accept-all and no bulk approve.
- A staff member confirms it. The app records who confirmed it and when, and keeps the AI's original next to every edit.
- The ARD committee decides. The committee, including the parent, makes every decision.

What the AI never does
- It never decides eligibility, placement, services, an intensity rating or funding.
- It never changes a student's record by itself. Nothing counts until a staff member confirms it.
- It never sends anything to a family. Staff send messages through your district's own channels.
- It never sees students outside the signed-in person's caseload or role.
Student data and AI
- Your district signs the TX-NDPA before any student data is loaded, and every AI feature stays off until it does.
- AI requests will stay in US regions, inside our own AWS account.
